After Dark 04:38
The cat’s gone missing Was last seen in the garden We’ll go looking after breakfast Start Looking in the garden Some cat’s they got nine lives While others they got ten And some folks spend their whole lives Just looking in the garden Lets go looking in the garden After dark Well once I had a dog And then I got another Was getting kind of lonely Sure could use a brother Started digging in the garden Looking for a brother After dark

Hold On 04:43
These rainy days go right to the bone I’m sure the farmer enjoys it We placed a seed into the soil Now green is the colour surrounding If you go back reach out your hand Oh, it's been a long time coming Hold on, hold on dear It's been a long time coming Don’t feel so lonely dear It's been a long time coming Retrace your steps back to the house with 185 on the corner If you see me, held by the hand, it's been a long time coming Hold on, hold on dear It's been a long time coming

Shannon knits a sweater for the dog outside her house He's been standing in the weather ever since she put him out Did we wake up with a headache from the liquid in the sink It is so he don’t know better, and decides to take a drink Cut it out, let him down like the tree outside my house Yeah this story it’s been going round and round The best view from this room is the one with the tree and you Autumn again Purple ketchup products playing on the t.v. screen In the cupboard there’s bananas, yeah but that's not what I need When I wake up really early and enjoy a cigarette Before the sun shine and the shadows and there’s singing in my head ya Do do do do do do do do do do do That is what they said Cut it out, let him down like the tree outside my house Yeah this story it’s been going round and round The best view from this room is the one with the tree and you

Yesterday was fine, oh for Mary With numbers on my mind you know sometimes I forget And my friends say “my oh my, what a big mistake” And I say “my oh my how those feelings can change on you, day to day, quickly” My oh my weekends are free, and my My oh my, head hangs down over pieces of paper Well I guess that’s news to me I find it hard to believe in sometimes And that's alright, for a while

about

Following the release of the critically acclaimed album Pink Dogs on the Green Grass in the spring of 2021, 185 on the Corner crystallises a period of time during which the prolific artist went through a lot of changes. On this new collection of songs, Jacobs delivers once again the neo-psychedelic sound he is known for, but this time with a slightly mellower approach and velvety mid-tempos rhythms. His dreamy and hazy soundscapes make this EP the perfect summer soundtrack. Through his lyrics, the multi-instrumentalist paints vivid, dreamy imagery, capturing his feelings during that period of instability and reflecting on his emotional growth since then.
